This website (updated May 2010) covers the area of Liverpool, Merseyside & North Cheshire and hopefully the information contained that you will find it useful to pursue your pastime. There are sections covering Passenger and Freight, along with a guide to various photographic locations within the area covered by 8A RAIL.
There is a link to my 8A RAIL Fotopic Gallery which has a selection of past & present images covering Merseyside, North Cheshire and various parts of the United Kingdom. Also included is a section on my travels across Canada (& Chicago) in 2006 & 07 where you will find the motive power and trains impressive. There are two further Fotopic galleries, one covering the Irish rail scene since 2001 and another covering other forms of transport especially ships.
Please note ALL information on 8A RAIL is provided in good faith and as a general guide only. All trains as you will appreciate are subject to alteration or even cancellation therefore no guarantee is made that any train services will operate due to numerous outside factors. Finally, when observing and photographing trains, please remember to obtain permission to gain access to private property and do not trespass on the railway as you will be putting your life and other people's life's in danger.
